My project is based on the observation of life. It begins with the observation of nature and how life puts us in situations that we cannot control. Nature in complex and dynamic, composed of many layers which determine who we are. At any one time, there is life and death, destruction and creation, new and old. My inspiration began a few months ago, when life put me thru one of the most difficult moments in my life, death. My grandmother passed away on November 2011, this was really hard for me and it made me look at life from a new perspective. Life is a journey, sometimes you are unaware of where the path of life is leading you and what will come along the way. This experience lead to creating a series of artwork images that would reflect different moments in time that symbolize my life and the cycle of life. After something bad happens, there is always something good. Months after my grandmother passed away, my cousin gave birth to little baby Estela, named after my grandmother. Life is full of surprises and each experience is what keeps us on the journey of life.
